Cattle Egrets in the horse trap

Took these pictures the other day of a couple of Cattle Egrets in my horse trap.  This is the 3rd year that we've had one come in, but this is the first year that there has been two come in!

 And they had fun pestering the buffalo too.....

 Until one of them pecked the buffalo on the head, then the buffalo ran them off!

A day out on the Prairie

A couple of days ago we went out in search of something to take pictures of.  And boy did we find some!
First we saw a herd of buffalo, with lots and lots of babies....

On down the road we found lots of wild flowers....

And we found some big bull buffaloes coming up out of the creek bottom......

And a Plover that was running around out in the middle of the bulls....

Heading down the the creek....(yes, I took pictures of EVERYTHING!!)

We saw a Mountain Boomer by the road......

On down to the creek we went.....

And on the way home, we saw deer way off in the distance....

And even some wild turkeys....

It was a very, very fun day!!!

Wet N Wild!

All day today it has been raining, just a slow, steady April rain.  This afternoon, the 150+ 2 year old buffalo that my dad has been taking care of all winter, came to to the southern end of their boundary which is right by my house!

Not having anything to take pictures of ALL DAY, I couldn't resist going out to take pictures! ;-) So, suiting up in a rain coat and a straw cowboy hat, I went out to brave the rain.
 This is what I get to see almost every day!

The buffalo like to have their pictures taken!
